Our lives are where the best and worst things happen, and sometimes we need help to be able to make sense of our reactions to the latter. Difficult feelings may be the result of ongoing problems such as work stress, a breakdown in a serious relationship, a chronic illness, or possibly by an individual experience such as a traumatic event/accident or the bereavement of a loved one.
It is also likely that these anxieties and low moods are compounded by multiple stresses from a variety of sources, as well as the way you have learnt to cope with things of this nature throughout your life: Maybe you have perceived some of the things you are going through as shameful or unimportant enough to seek help for, even when help is there.
The help is here and is for everybody: 1 in 4 adults of all ages, races, genders, sexualities (etc.) will experience a mental health problem at some point during their lives, so support is necessary and available for all people.
